St. Stephens Day

August 20th is St. Stephens day. They celebrate with parades, in our case this year an airplane parade down the Danube river, fireworks, and Old Hungary art and crafts festival up at the Var.
Cam was asked to be in attendance at a military cadet type graduation in the morning outside the Parlament building. So the kids and I soloed it in the morning and met up with him after.
Outside Parlament (their Capital building)

St. Stephens Basillica his actual mummified hand is on display inside. In fact up until a few years ago a tradition on this day was to have his hand paraded through the city.  EEW!!
We found a great traditional Hungarian street cafe near the embassy and the Basillica that I am sure we will frequent.
great food and prices.
