Birthday memories
Don't let my tardiness in posting diminish the fact that I had such a fun birthday. I love birthdays mine, yours, theirs…it doesn't matter just give me a reason to celebrate and I am happy. It started with my Mom being here to help and celebrate with us. A yummy dinner with my boys at Olive Garden where they were all very well mannered and behaved, Which to be honest is a gift in and of itself. (until the end when Creed's flare for the dramatics caused him to try to exit through the emergency door, sounding all the alarms at peak Friday night dinner hour…oh the stares…) My evening, I thought was going to be spent with my neighbor Tera at the movie but ended up with a surprise babysitter and a group of some of my Favorite people (mom included) all taking me to the movie and dessert afterwards at Outback. The waiters were great. They even went out and bought us party hats and were very much involved in our celebration.
Note to self; next time you pick a movie always think first…Do I want to watch this with my MOM sitting right next to me? Can we all say AWKWARD!!

32 years of being ME.
Today on my birthday Creed had a Dr.'s Appointment
and as luck would have it this was the only children's
book in the joint. When we got to this page
it just sang to me. So for my birthday
I gave myself this wonderful reminder;
Today you are you! That is truer than true!
There is no one alive who is you-er than you!
Shout loud. "I am lucky to be what I am!
Thank goodness I'm not just a clam or a ham
Or a dusty old jar of sour gooseberry jam!
I am what I am! That's a great thing to be!
If I say so myself, Happy Birthday to me!!
Well said Dr. Seuss, well said!

Spring you are such a tease…
A HIGH of 70 degrees today…
Yes, we finally saw some sun. Just in time to have it ripped away tomorrow with a forecast of SNOW!
I can't even wrap my head around more SNOW!! GO AWAY ALREADY! Honestly enough is enough!
But for now I will savor the vitamin D that has absorbed into my pasty soul and cling to the memories of the past two days where my boys have been frolicking (all right not quite the right word to use when describing my boys, but this is MY memory so I can choose to remember it anyway that I want to.) in the sun.

Mini Cam
Saw a shirt at the local JCPenney and thought I had literally warped back in time.
This particular shirt isn't just ANY shirt it is
THE shirt that SCREAMS Cam.
It's the shirt that when
I think of him pops into my head.
It is the shirt he wore on many dates and important occasions early on in our life together. In fact he wasn't the only one who liked this shirt. it is so great that while Cam was on his mission
I remember his brother
Andrew wearing it to high school.
This prompted the conversation when Cam and
I first started dating of me asking him
"Isn't that Andrew's shirt?" to which he replied something along the line of "Um, NO? Dang it!
He wore this while I was gone?"
In fact he loves this shirt so much that it is still hanging in his closet today.
I didn't care what size it was I knew I had to have it and with three boys it would fit one of them at some point or another eventually.
Lucky for me it was a size 5 large enough for Mack to get at least one wear out of it before it got washed
and then it shrunk to be the perfect size for Creed.
Every time he wears it I can't help but feel nostalgic and giddy inside seeing this shirt being worn by a second generation of Shirley boys!
when held right next to each other they really are the exact same fabric. Cams photo is slightly aged. He was 22 when this was taken. :)

What's This?
Does anyone know what this is a picture of???
Beautiful Right?
Well, I didn't either when Cam emailed it to me. I asked him if it was the view from my new house that he bought me for my birthday...(a girl can dream)
Little did I know how close I was....
ARE YOU READY?
(I have butterflies and am literally shaking even while I type this and I have had a day to let it sink in)
It is a random picture of a house in Budapest Hungary because YES folks
We are MOVING TO BUDAPEST!!!
Cam got the perfect job for him. An air attache position at the Embassy there. So not only does he get to live in Hungary again, he also gets to do foreign affairs work (which is what his master's is in) but he also still gets to FLY! It won't be anything like the magnificent B-1 that he currently flies but heck its still being amongst the birds.
I am overwhelmed but EXTREMELY excited. We have wanted an assignment like this our entire Air Force career. No details yet as to how soon but I will keep you posted....

Amazing!
Look at the fun and amazing purses my Mother-in-Law made for me while she was in town. Aren't these great?? It is made out of Cam's old flight suit. Now I have something fun to carry around each and every day that reminds me of him.
(Of course I always have his kids to remind me each and every day of him, but they are much heavier to carry around.J)
