The Circus came to town

Callan turned 4!
Yes, it was a few weeks ago but on Saturday we finally
had time to do it up right.
Circus Style.
I have wanted to do a circus/carnival party for one of
my boys since we lived in California and I did
a large carnival for the Cub Scout Blue and Gold banquet.
This year, thanks to some extra time when we arrived without
anything but my Ipad to entertain me while cooped up in an
apartment with 3 boys, I found myself cozied up with
Pinterest and party blogs and the party took on a life of its own.

Believe me when I say I know I am no where near the party thrower as many of you,
I have seen your blogs and posts. But this was my first big attempt at a home party and
when I saw my full walk out basement it was all the push I needed to
rev up my engines and get this circus train coming to my house.

The kids had a ball getting their faces painted, grabbing their ring master mustaches and
walking in the parade that always precedes any decent circus.
After which we ate popcorn and observed the circus performers (each of them)
taking turns on the trampoline performing their various skills.

Then it was time for the games. Mack and Creed along with some of their
friends each manned a booth and did a great job keeping their games running and
making sure the kids all got the appropriate amount of tickets.

After everyone had exhausted the games, we turned in tickets for prizes and started
on our hot dog feast.

I really had a lot of planning, executing and participating in this party
and more importantly The kids did too!

Mack with Andrea our babysitter who is truly a saint and did an amazing job face painting all the kids
and overall was a huge help to pulling the whole thing off.

Creed did his own face painting, pretty random but that fits his personality perfectly!
