Labor Day Hike

There is a hike in the Black Hills called "little devils tower" that we did last
summer with my brother and his family. I have always wanted to do it again
and in particular be able to do it with Cam. It is such an
amazing view at the top. My little men are such great hikers.
They did the 3 miles with little complaint (of course there is always some.)
Unfortunately, unlike last year the weather wasn't
near as perfect. It was EXTREMELY windy, so much that
the boys wouldn't leave my side for fear they blow off.
Which honestly really was a possibility.

I wish these pictures could show you just how magnificent and beautiful it is...

                On our way...almost there...

trying to eat our snacks at the top...they were blowing right out of our hands.

surfin in the wind, with Harney Peak in the background

Sweet
Callan like always is just along for the ride.

Holding on for dear life to get the official "TOP" picture!

we ended our day with a trip to Crazy Horse.
We realized that Creed and Callan have never "officially" been there which means,
we actually went inside to the visitors center,
watched the little movie , walked through all the exhibits,
and didn't just drive by and point it out.

Good on you for getting out to enjoy the hills! Oh, how we miss them! Little Devil's Tower is our favorite hike, especially the old route. I was shocked to see the shriveled, bug infested forest over the summer-it literally took my breath away.
