I think everyone has heard in some way or another of the Sturgis Rally.
If not, then google it...
Wait don't do that, I am afraid of what images might come across your screen.
So for those who don't know it is a motorcycle rally that happens every August
and brings anywhere from 500,000-1,000,000 extra people to the Black Hills.
This year I think it was around 800,000.
We usually try to be out of town during the rally because quite frankly we can't stand all the craziness that comes with it. However, this year we weren't didn't go anywhere since Cam had just gotten home. So we decided since this would be our last year living here during the rally we would actually try to attend and see what all the hype was about.
For obvious reasons we didn't do too much with the actual rally,
but just venturing out of our house is seriously life risking.
My Biker boys!
The day we hiked around the needles one nice biker allowed the boys to climb on for a picture.
This made Callan's day. The entire week of the rally he would go nuts seeing all the
motorcycles driving around us.
Screaming from his car seat, "mobike mobike".
They are literally EVERYWHERE!
another night Cam and I went to one of the many concert series.
This one was featuring:
Hinder
Daughtry and
Three doors down
The music at least was good.
My friends Jenn and Kim were also there and came to hang out by us.
Lucky for them we were there, they got a flat tire on the way up and it took us
3 hours, 2 drunk guys, 3 drunk onlookers (who were looking for a party and thought we were tailgating, at least the first guys stopped to actually help.) and Cam to change the darn thing.
Stupid stuck car jack!
So at 4:30 a.m. we crawled into our beds.
We are definitely too old for those kind of hours.
Oh Rally how we WON'T miss thee.
(not even a little)
