Now that it is officially February I should probably get my Christmas post...err... posts done.
This may be in a couple of different posts because our Christmas break felt like two separate occasions.
First we had our time at home which took place all the way up until the day after, then we drove to Texas, to spend the week and New Years with my ENTIRE family. This is quite a feat because we are scattered all over the country. And these types of get togethers are rare.
To start off our month its the annual tree hunting, I know I had my nice camera there taking pictures
but when it came time to upload the photos they are no where to be found.
I hate it when that happens!
At least I have the few I took with my phone, they unfortunately or not nearly as good
and I am missing the great ones I took of the kids.
the after and before tree...it was our largest one yet. It took up the whole side of the living room.
Our lack of judgement must have had something to do with the fact that the stomach bug caught up to me that day, and I was in no condition to be out hunting for a tree.
I just couldn't bare missing out on one of our favorite family outings.
the letter I found taped to the tree one day by Mack
- it was after he had gotten in a fight with Creed and I disciplined them both-
in case you don't read 1st grade, this is what it says;
All I want for Christmas is to be all alone for one day like Isaac. (an only child friend of his, which is ironic, because after telling Isaac's mom this he wants the exact opposite.
Classic case of you want what you don't have.)
the tradition of sleeping and reading stories by the tree. Doesn't that just look blissful.

the Christmas programs at their schools...Creed is standing in the back row ... Mack is sitting by one of his special buddies Noah.
Our friends the Nesbit's hosted an ugly sweater party.
Cam's pants and sweater were courtesy of some friends in the squadron.
To give you an idea of how cool his sweater was it came equipped with its own battery pack.

We also attended The 34th Holiday Party
pictures with some sweet friends Sarah Chen and Susan Slinkard.
Rode the 1880's train holiday express to Santa's workshop with the Kidman family.
Something we have tried to do every year since we moved here.
It did not disappoint.
A fantastic memory for our family, and to do it with
A fantastic memory for our family, and to do it with
such great friends even better!
after that "cry for help" in the note Mack wrote,
I took him for a special breakfast on a day that
I took him for a special breakfast on a day that
Creed had school and he didn't.

Another favorite holiday tradition is going to Story Book island and seeing their amazing light display, riding the train and of course a visit with the Claus'
that's it for December events,
next up Christmas!
Stay Tuned...
